Packing for Success
Packing for Success
On every outing, packing smart is the key to having a safe, fun, and successful experience. Bringing the right gear ensures Scouts are prepared while also keeping backpacks lighter and easier to carry.
When a Scout packs only what’s needed, it helps reduce weight, prevent waste, and leave plenty of room for essentials like food and water. Overpacking may seem like a good idea at first, but most Scouts quickly learn that carrying extra, unnecessary items is no fun on the trail.
That’s why our troop provides packing lists designed for each type of outing—from weekend campouts to high-adventure treks. These lists help Scouts learn how to prepare properly, pack efficiently, and be responsible for their own gear.
