Youth Leadership Elections

Our troop holds elections every six months to give Scouts the opportunity to grow as leaders and take on new responsibilities.

We also have a special troop tradition:

This system gives Scouts valuable time to learn leadership skills as an Assistant before stepping into the role of Senior Patrol Leader. It also ensures that leadership is passed on smoothly and that the troop always has strong youth leaders ready to serve.

Speech Requirement

For any position a Scout runs for (SPL, ASPL, or other elected roles), the candidate must prepare and deliver a speech to the troop. This gives every Scout a chance to share their vision, explain why they want the role, and let the troop hear from them directly before voting.

This tradition ensures that elections are fair, open, and that every candidate is heard. It also encourages Scouts to think critically about leadership and prepare thoughtfully for the responsibilities they seek.
